Beth Singleton’s Studio

Beth Singleton’s Studio

What kind of Art/Crafts do you do?
I make glass lampwork beads.

Where do you create?

I have a little studio at home. It sits away from our house out in the woods.

How do you keep all your supplies organised?
My main supplies are my glass rods. I have them organized in a small entertainment centre that I bought from Walmart. I cut PVC piping to store my different colours and stacked the pipes in the storage cabinet.

How do you keep yourself motivated to keep your space tidy?
Tidy? Are you kidding? My glass rods are tidy but that’s about it! My actual work table where my torch is located is usually a mess! Loaded with pulled glass stringers and tools but it works for me.

Any tips for how to keep art spaces tidy or organised?
You are probably asking the wrong person about this. Having plenty of shelving for storage always helps. A bulletin board is also great. I stick packs of beads on my bulletin board as well as photos.

Do you get stressed out when your space gets in a mess?
No.

If you could have your dream space tomorrow what would it look like?
I already have it!

Do space limitations get in the way of projects you have in mind?
No. I’ve been hooked on making lampwork beads from the moment I started. I’ve got the perfect space for making beads.

What is the next big thing on your wish list for your art space?
I really have everything I need out in my studio. Heat and air conditioning, water, electricity, ventilation, my kiln, torch, phone, television, deep sink, refrigerator, work tables and of course a dog bed for my studio companion.

Where can people view your work or purchase it?
