Laura Wennstrom's Studio
Laura Wennstrom's Studio
What kind of Art/Crafts do you do?
I am an artist I mostly do mixed media work
Where do you do your art/crafts?
Anyplace I can, but mostly in my studio
How do you keep all your supplies organised?
I am a fan of boxes- shoebox sized ones. I have a box for little treasures such as buttons and small animal bones and small plastic stuff etc. I have a few of those plastic portable file boxes that I LOVE for sorting out my ever-growing paper collection.
How do you keep yourself motivated to keep your space tidy?
I don't really work on keeping it tidy or organized... heehee. Someone once told me that the key to being an artist sometimes is just showing up to your studio each day, even if you are not inspired. On these days you can read or clean but it's going through the motions, and I have found this helpful advice. It is mostly on the "uninspired" days that I clean my studio but again, this rarely happens. Something about a huge mess spurs my creativity.
Any tips for how to keep art spaces tidy or organised?
Know where everything is, even if it is not organized
Do you get stressed out when your space gets in a mess?
Not really
If you could have your dream space tomorrow what would it look like?
It would have lots of windows and shelves and a big table, that's all really. And with an awesome CD/i-pod music setup.
Is there any craft you would love to do but cant due to limitations of your art space?
Usually my budget is the limiter.
What is the next big thing on your wish list for your art space?
Someday I hope to have a huge drawer system for all of my oversized paper, and a printing press, and kiln... but I will keep dreaming.
Is there a website for people to see or buy or art/crafts?
