Trudie Davies Studio

Trudie Davies Studio

What kind of Art/Crafts do you do?
I am a Jewellery Designer/Metal smith so I make jewellery pieces. I use Silver, Gold and gemstones in my designs.

Where do you create?

I create all my work in my home studio. We are renovating our house and I may get a lovely new bigger studio.

How do you keep all your supplies organised?
Well thankfully I have a good memory so I kinda know where everything is. I store different items in craft boxes, drawers and tins.

How do you keep yourself motivated to keep your space tidy?
Well I will tidy up after each working day. If the workspace does not have some order it makes it very difficult to function and create pieces. Also the workspace needs to be clean and tidy so that it is safe to work in.

Any tips for how to keep art spaces tidy or organised?
Clean up after each working day. I am always on the lookout for interesting storage ideas.

Do you get stressed out when your space gets in a mess?
Yes I can't work if it is out of control messy. Also I need a clear space when working for safety reasons.

If you could have your dream space tomorrow what would it look like?
Oh a Studio at the back of my House that’s just my space. Wow ... I am starting to get inspired... I would love a studio that was rustic and made from wood, with all wood panelling inside the studio. Like a Swedish sauna!

Do space limitations get in the way of projects you have in mind?
Well I want to get a kiln and do some enamelling. I am not sure where I am going to set them up but I am still going to buy a kiln and go for it. I love colours and can’t wait to work with colour and enamels. How exciting.

What is the next big thing on your wish list for your art space?
To win the lottery and build the studio at the back of house.

Where can people view your work or purchase it?
