HandArt Design Studios

What kind of Art/Crafts do you do?
I like to do all different kinds of arts and crafts, but lately I've been concentrating on doing more jewelry, purses hair accessories, and home accessories with re-purposed items such as old buttons, beads, etc. I also enjoy decoupaging anything from wood to glass.

Where do you do your art/crafts?
I have a room in my home that I've converted to my office/studio. See you tube movie:

How do you keep all your supplies organized?
I purchased large boxes at IKEA and divided my supplies per category in each of the boxes. In addition, I have installed shelves inside my closet to allow for more organizing bins and boxes. I also purchased a bookcase, and a closed that I use for organizing my supplies.

How do you keep yourself motivated to keep your space tidy?
Doing a re-model and making the space look beautiful are motivating factors for me to keep the
space clean and organized, although it is always a struggle.

Any tips for how to keep art spaces tidy or organised?
Have a place for each type of supply and label it accordingly so that it always goes back to the same space. Try to keep flat surfaces as empty as possible, and use vertical space as much as possible for storage.

Do you get stressed out when your space gets in a mess?
I don't like to see it messy, although it is usually unavoidable at least for a period of time. Once a project or a set of projects is finished I always like to clean it up.

If you could have your dream space tomorrow what would it look like?
My current space is working really well for me so I really can't complain. I have two large surfaces that I can work on. The only thing I could say is that having an even larger flat surface would be great for when dealing with large pieces of fabric.

Is there any craft you would love to do but cant due to limitations of your art space?
Not really.

What is the next big thing on your wish list for your art space?
So far I've done everything I wanted to do in my space. Now I just want to sell what I have made so I have space to make more!

Is there a website for people to see or buy your art/crafts?

  1. This is inspiring. I guess one can have a functional work space that also incorporates beauty and creativity. I love this!

  2. I love the wall Mural and the writing on the desk, although could never do that on mine it would get too dirty and you would never be able to see it or read it.
